Commissioning Engineer

We are currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our clients' team.

Our client, a well-known international presence in renewable energy in Romania, is extending its team.

Your new role

  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure systems and equipment meet performance specifications and project requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the commissioning process, including pre-commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of systems and equipment.
  • Review and interpret technical documents, such as engineering drawings, specifications, and manuals, to understand system requirements and design intent.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to verify installation quality and compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of commissioning activities with overall project timelines.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues during the commissioning process, providing technical solutions and recommendations to resolve problems effectively.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, non-conformance reports, and documentation of any deviations from design specifications.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide training and support to clients and end-users on the operation and maintenance of commissioned systems and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all commissioning activities, test results, and project documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance commissioning processes and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • University degree in electronics, electricals or energetics;
  • Demonstrable experience in electrical engineering;
  • Previous electrical experience on a wind/solar farm project is not essential but will be highly regarded;
  • Deep understanding of QC Romanian Standards and Regulations;
  • Leadership of site-based subcontractors and employees has resulted in a highly aligned, motivated, and engaged team;
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with project stakeholders;
  • Strong team skills;
  • Experience in contractual documentation and technical specifications;
  • Knowledgeable of energy engineering and constructability within renewable energy plants;
  • Knowledge of regulatory, environmental and safety requirements;
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and with multidisciplinary project teams;
  • Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices;
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project);
  • Experience working in an international company;
  • Estimating or site auditing experience is preferred;
  • Photovoltaic installation experience is preferred.
