Your new role
As a Python/Go Platform Engineer you will:
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs using Python and/or Go to support a modern development platform.
- Build event-driven integrations across tools like GitHub, Kubernetes, Artifactory, and internal systems.
- Contribute to platform features such as artifact promotion APIs, SDLC metrics pipelines, and CI/CD standardization tooling.
- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration with GitHub Actions, Helm, ArgoCD, and cloud-native environments.
- Support integration with internal developer portals, enabling unified service metadata and lifecycle automation.
- Develop automation and tooling to enhance developer productivity and observability across the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in design and architecture reviews, contribute to internal standards, and produce technical documentation.
- Work closely with platform users, product teams, and engineering leadership to gather feedback and iterate on platform capabilities.
What you'll need to succeed
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
Technical Expertise:
- Strong backend engineering experience with Python and/or Go.
- Solid understanding of software design principles, architecture patterns, and secure development practices.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, Istio, and GitOps tools like ArgoCD.
- Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Understanding of software lifecycle management including artifact promotion, dependency management, and release traceability.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda).
- Exposure to internal developer portals (e.g., Backstage).
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, PowerBI).
