Our client, a major global organization in the financial services sector, is launching a large-scale Data Transformation Program aimed at modernising and centralising data using cloud-native technologies on AWS and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a hands-on Lead Data Engineer, responsible for designing and delivering data solutions and business tenancies on AWS & Snowflake within the new cloud data platform.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design modern, scalable, and automated data pipelines using emerging cloud technologies.
- Build, maintain, and optimise the cloud data platform (AWS/Snowflake) while supporting the migration from legacy on‑premise systems.
- Contribute to the rollout of a new cloud-based analytics platform, ensuring data quality, security, and performance.
- Work closely with stakeholders across multiple international locations, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills.
- Drive best practices in architecture, automation, testing, and CI/CD within the data engineering ecosystem.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in designing and developing automated data pipelines and data architectures.
- 5+ years of Python programming experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on Data Engineering experience with: Snowflake, SQL, DBT, Airflow
- 2+ years of experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Proven background working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as JIRA.
- Experience implementing automated testing for data pipelines.
- Practical experience supporting migrations from on‑premise systems to AWS & Snowflake.
- Up-to-date understanding of industry trends, cloud standards, and Data Engineering best practices.
- Experience operating within ITIL-based support environments (2nd/3rd line).
