Claims Manager

For our partner, Signal Iduna— a strong insurance company with German DNA — we are looking for a Senior Claims Manager to lead and coordinate the entire claims team across the organization.
You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the company’s growth, playing a key role in strengthening and expanding the business during a period of ongoing development.

Key responsibilities:
  • Organizing the department, coordinating the activity of subordinate colleagues and supervising the work of claims inspectors.
  • Conducting additional assessments of major motor claims or complex cases to determine the circumstances of the event and the extent of damages.
  • Updating policies, procedures, and guidelines related to claims handling, ensuring efficiency and compliance with legislation and insurance products.
  • Proposing general improvements to insurance conditions, underwriting policies, and/or internal IT applications, aiming to increase clarity and reduce loss ratios.
  • Preparing centralized reports—often requested by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF)—regarding the number of reported and processed claims.
  • Collaborating with the legal and financial departments to support debt recovery actions.
  • Monitoring compliance with legal and professional requirements for both internal staff and external claims inspectors.
  • Investigating issues raised through complaints or escalations regarding claim handling and customer interactions.
  • Preparing draft responses to complaints and providing microelectromechanical arguments for litigated motor claim files.
  • Defining objectives for automotive expert evaluations (and participating in complex ones) while managing the relevant sections of internal IT applications.
  • Managing assigned claim files (according to area of specialization) in full compliance with insurance conditions and internal procedures.
  • Handling incoming phone calls and providing status updates or information about ongoing claim files.
  • Strengthening relationships with insured clients and all stakeholders involved in the claims process (brokers, service providers, parts suppliers), ensuring efficient and client‑focused collaboration.


Education and experience:
  • Completed higher education.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in claims handling.
  • Exposure to non‑life insurance claims is a strong advantage;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in team coordination.
Training / Certifications
  • Relevant specializations for motor claims. - a plus
  • Training related to non‑motor claims. - a plus
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations
Reporting and presentation skills for top management
English proficiency.
