For our client, an international leader in the energy sector, we are looking for an exceptional Junior Legal Counsel.
Your new role
In this junior legal position, you will support the legal aspects of energy development activities from early planning to project completion.
You will work alongside colleagues from various European jurisdictions, with your initial assignments mainly connected to projects carried out in Romania.
The role involves close cooperation with business teams to provide legal input on project development, asset acquisitions and investments, financing arrangements, corporate matters, regulatory requirements, PPAs, and the preparation and negotiation of EPC and O&M agreements.
Manage workload to meet timelines set by the country’s senior legal lead, and proactively address any need for deadline adjustments.
Ensure all internal workflows for reviewing, approving, and signing contractual documentation are followed accurately.
Familiarise yourself with the Romanian legal landscape and the company’s operational framework to give well‑informed guidance.
Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders through transparent communication and a solid understanding of business priorities.
Work cooperatively with legal peers in other markets to exchange knowledge and maintain a coordinated approach to legal risk management.
Contribute to refining internal legal procedures, tools, and best practices to enhance the team’s overall efficiency.
Track contract lifecycles and ensure all required actions are taken in due time.
What you'll need to succeed
At least two years of experience in the renewable energy field—particularly in areas such as solar project development, permitting, administrative energy regulations, M&A, real estate matters, EPC/O&M contracting, supply chain agreements, corporate law, financing of infrastructure projects, or power purchase agreements, whether gained in Romania or internationally.
Authorisation to practice law or qualification as an attorney/legal counsel.
Familiarity with GDPR standards and corporate governance is an advantage.
Strong analytical reasoning and an ability to provide pragmatic legal solutions.
Confidence in drafting and negotiating commercial and project-related contracts.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
A high level of accuracy, organisation, and multitasking ability.
Flexibility and resilience in handling multiple assignments simultaneously.
