Delivery Lead, Markets Operations Technology
The candidate will manage multiple initiatives within the Markets Operations Technology space.
The candidate will lead the initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high quality and cost-effective deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
The delivery lead would have expertise in Agile Delivery and ideally come from a software engineering background. They lead agile, cross-functional software delivery teams, removing impediments and creating high-performing teams to achieve business outcomes.
They are responsible for end-to-end delivery, ensuring the team is delivering demonstrable value on every iteration. They work with the Tech, Quality, Technical Architecture, UX/Ul Designers, and Product Owners, to not only deliver products and services, but also improve our current processes.
A Delivery Lead manages scope and schedules with an Agile-centric approach to prioritisation and value delivery. They assist with user story creation and backlog management as well as building and maintaining a product roadmap alongside key stakeholders of the projects.
Role Requirements
• Partner closely with Technical Product Managers
(TPM), Product Owners, Business Architects and business stakeholders are impacted by these initiatives under coordination.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of the business's needs, strategy and goals.
• Lead teams with minimum support, finding pathways for projects with ambiguity, and escalating problems to the appropriate level when necessary.
• Demonstrate strong consulting expertise by strategically leading and navigating crucial conversations with our stakeholders.
• Facilitate discovery sessions with delivery teams and TPMs
• Manage scope and schedules with an Agile approach to prioritisation and value delivery.
• Help to maintain a product roadmap in conjunction with TPM and Product Owners, supporting creation and management of user stories and product backlog
• Support PMO to allocate resources to current and future projects based on the delivery tasks and milestones in the project plan.
• Define and report on project progress and achievement of project milestones, regularly updating key stakeholders on project status & escalating issues quickly.
•Support PMO in validating financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
• Manage the project budget request process and perform regular financial reviews to track and measure financial performance against plan at the project level.
• Work with the Portfolio, PMO and Business to provide an accurate resource demand view for the project.
• Ensure teams deliver demonstrable value against the business's objectives every iteration.
• Leverage a scalable qualitative and quantitative approach to risk management, identifying risks early, providing high visibility on impact and urgency against project milestones, and determining timely, necessary action (s)
• Provide visibility and transparency both internally and externally through regular reporting, and communicate progress and risks at both the sprint and overall project level
• Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums.
• Define and track project tasks and milestones and coordinate the delivery against the baselined plans.
• Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality
Candidate Profile
• Strong communication skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and a strong team player.
• Strong adherence to Project Governance, experience in managing large scale projects
• Excellent Stakeholder Management skills, both technical and non-technical
• Confident, assured, and willing to drive delivery of Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
• Experience with Scrum, Kanban and other Agile frameworks
• Experience as a Project Manager, Product Owner or a Product Manager
• Risk management with proven ability to establish approaches which continuously mitigate external and internal risks.
• Strong ability to leverage various reporting matrixes that provide project insight
• Quality-first mentality; able to recognise and mediate conflict between parties at all levels, with both the team and with external stakeholders working with the team
• Leadership including: Guidance and support provided to the immediate agile team and wider project members as required
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Preferred
• Global experience – working successfully with teams in multiple locations simultaneously
• Experience and knowledge of large scale, global, change programmes and portfolio management
• Experience in large investment banking or financial services organisations
• Background in working across a number of different sectors, both business and IT related projects/programmes
