Your new role

As a Java Software Architect (Software Development) you will:

• Provide technical direction and architectural guidance within product teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise-wide technical strategies and best practices.
• Actively contribute to coding, code reviews, and debugging to maintain a high-quality engineering culture.
• Advocate for and implement best practices in software development, security, and DevOps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, QA engineers, and Enterprise Architects to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Engage in engineering guilds and communities of practice to drive technical alignment across teams.
• Mentor and support the career growth of engineers, helping them develop technical skills.
• Foster a learning culture by conducting technical workshops, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Identify technical debt and propose strategies for sustainable modernization.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in system design, testing, and performance optimization.
• Encourage experimentation, risk-taking, and innovation within engineering teams.

What you'll need to succeed

• Expertise in like Python, Scala, Java, Go, Ruby, etc. Microservices, distributed systems, and big data technologies like Kafka and Spark.
• Strong understanding of scalability, security, and software architecture best practices including high availability and disaster recovery patterns.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead complex technical initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work across multiple teams and disciplines.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, or OpenStack.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• 10–14 years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
• Experience working in an agile, product-driven environment.
• Contributions to engineering excellence through technical leadership, advocacy, and innovation initiatives.
• Experience with modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability).
• Hands-on experience with test-driven development (TDD), BDD, and performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
